Ok let me clear some of the misconceptions circulating around here. It was never our intention to shut down 99chan for illegally posting our content. We simply ask for it to be removed. 99chan does not display clear contact information on whom to contact to have our stuff removed, so that leaves us with no other choice but to contact their host.
The action of taking down 99chan and any fees imposed on them are entirely by their own hosting service. We get nothing out of this (there’s no financial gain) and are not involved whatsoever in whatever legal fees or actions needed to get 99chan back up again. Our contact made to the 99chan host only asks to remove our content.. not to take the site down.
This being said, if 99chan would clearly list whom we’d need to contact to have our stuff removed we’d gladly do so.

Someone (LOPAN) reported 99chan.org to namecheap and got our shit pulled, attempts to locate fubar (still owns the domain) have been futile.
While we are trying to resolve we will more than likely have to get a court order to have 99chan.org transferred to him and he will give control over to several trusted parties in the event that rickb or others become for some reason incapacitated.
